We're all about fun and interesting sidings, and for the last couple of years, shiplap has been having a major moment. You can pretty much thank Joanna Gaines entirely for that, and we aren't mad about it, but you heard it here first—we found the new shiplap, and it's so good.
Mandi Gubler, the DIYer behind the blog , showed off a wall so fun and colorful, it'll absolutely convince you that you need a statement wall in your life. And the best part is, it seems way easier to DIY yourself than actual shiplap would be.
You will need some woodworking skills, but she breaks it down easily enough that it shouldn't be too complicated to DIY yourself. Once you get all your wood cut to the right-sized pieces, tape them on the wall in an octagonal shape. Then it's time to paint. Gubler painted each honeycomb on the far right in the original shade of pink, red, and orange, then began to dilute them with white paint to create an ombré effect.
If saws scare you sh*tless, we bet you could probably pull off a knock-off version with some popsicle sticks, but if you're determined to do it justice, check out the full tutorial on .
