Commune Mieścisko lies in the Wielkopolska Region, the wągrowiecki district. It covers an area of 135.6 km2 and is divided into 22 villages. It resides about 6000 people, of which Mieścisku - 2300. It is located in north-eastern part of Gniezno Lake District, Wełna river flows through its area. Since the beginning of the 90's, of the past century, economy sectors are developing very dynamically in the commune. Earlier on the local labor market, industry located in Gniezno and Wągrowiec had a significant impact. Now the impact is much lower, because in the community had developed a number of companies, which obtain good results. In recent times, clearly decreased unemployment. Around 280 companies operates in Miescisko commune.

Mieścisko Commune – Patron of the Enterprise! Since 1982 Andrzej Banaszyński is a village-mayor – this is Polish one of the longest period of time that one person governs for so long.
